Dumb Auctions » Traveling
A traveling auction is where the item being sold has “traveled” across eBay. It is sort of like a modern version of an chain letter vis-à-vis eBay. What happens is someone sells something which they have signed. Then, you come along, buy it and sign it yourself. The idea is that as you add signatures, its value goes up! Its becoming quite the eBay phenomenon.

It seems that nLrebel has really made a name for himself in the eBay community. There is now a growing movement to help him get on the Tonight Show. Personally, Dunce says that this movement is mis-guided. You should all be trying to help get Dunce on the Tonight Show! |

Nope, not yet! But you do have the opportunity to be the first "signature" on his latest traveling auction. This is a traveling auction with a twist though, because nLrebel will be doing the traveling. Usually the pants do the traveling all by themselves, but this time the pants come with a big bald guy too! Wuppe, so bid away! |

This is how a traveling auction should be run… first you get lots of "famous" signatures on an item, and then you send it off to travel the world. At least this time, the buyer will know they are signing something that some other famous person has signed. Otherwise you are just hoping that your signature will end up next to Brad Pitt's. |

Apparently the man behind Short Bus auctions has disappeared. This auction somehow is going to help find him. Dunce has a theory: 3 year olds have somehow gotten control of their parents eBay accounts and are now bidding on these traveling auctions. That is the only possible explanation. |

Thank you Woo Hoo Mystery Man, for once again confirming the total insanity of this wonderful country! What makes a Barbie doll worth so much? This whole traveling idea is just nuts if you ask me, but you didn't ask me… and consequently you are making money! Maybe you are smarter than I look… |
