Dumb Auctions » Traveling
A traveling auction is where the item being sold has “traveled” across eBay. It is sort of like a modern version of an chain letter vis-à-vis eBay. What happens is someone sells something which they have signed. Then, you come along, buy it and sign it yourself. The idea is that as you add signatures, its value goes up! Its becoming quite the eBay phenomenon.

Normally writing on an American flag will get you in big trouble… but in this case I think we can excuse the offense. This is a beautiful flag signed by survivors of hurricane Katrina. Dunce's heart goes out to those who have lost everything, and if this flag can give some of them solace… well bid away people. It's a good, bizarre auction for once! |

1000 signatures is the goal on this traveling t-shirt. I am guessing about three t-shirts worth. So, lets assume that the average person writes in microfiche… then this ends up like one of those novelty items like the grains of rice with your name on them that you get at theme parks! |

Be the first signature on nLrebel's latest pair of traveling pants. Apparently this is a much bigger honor than I could have ever imagined. The bidding has topped 25 grand. Yep, that’s right! 25 Grand. I am sure you are as surprised as I am to find out that the reserve still is not met. Mr. nLrebel, even your pants are not worth that much! |

The concept here is very odd. You buy a traveling/mystery envelope with a bunch of stuff in it. Then you add some more stuff, and re-sell the thing. What is the ultimate goal here? To have the worlds most diversely packed envelope? Chances are you break even between what you add to the envelope and what you make on the auction |
